Former Agricultural Minister Shettima Mustapha died on November 17, 2022, at the age of 82.

He is survived by wife, children and grandchildren.
Shettima had died of a heart attack in a London hospital, where he was receiving treatment for an indispensable sickness. He had suffered a cardiac arrest in the process.
Tributes have come in from all around the world to the family of the deceased. According to the National President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Shettima’s death is an “irreparable loss.”
The late politician will be buried according to Islamic rites.

Who Was Shettima Mustapha?
Shettima Mustafa was a Nigerian politician and former Minister of Agriculture.

Born on November 26, 1939, in Yobe, Nigeria, Shettima also served as Minister of Defense during the tenure of late former President Umaru Yar’Adua.
He also served as Minister of the Interior until former President Goodluck Jonathan took over power.
Shettima had bagged degrees from the Ahmadu Bello University, the University of Cambridge, Purdue University, Indiana, USA, and the University of East Anglia.
Shettima was awarded the Order of the Federal Republic in 2000. He was also a member of the board of the Savannah Bank, and chairman of the Presidential National Tree Nursery Development Committee.
