Huw Edwards, a BBC newsreader, took over the reins of the broadcaster’s special news program, updating viewers on the Queen’s health while dressed in a black suit and tie. Edwards briefly worked as a work-study intern at the for-profit radio station Swansea Sound before beginning his training as a news trainee at the BBC in 1984. He started working for BBC Wales as a parliament correspondent in 1986.
