Mike Leach, Mississippi State coach was on Sunday, Dec 11 transported from his home to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson following a health scare.

Leach’s health condition has not been made known and has been reported by multiple sources as a “personal health issue.”
On Monday, Dec. 12, he was reported to be in “critical condition.”
In a statement on Monday, the school said:
“Mike’s family is with him and appreciates the overwhelming expressions of love and support for the coach, but also requests that their family’s privacy be respected at this time.”

Leach’s last pubilc appearance was on Saturday, Dec. 10 as he led Mississippi State’s preparation for the ReliaQuest Bowl and at an evening holiday party.
Due to Leach’s hospitalization, defensive coordinator Zach Arnett has been made the interim coach of the Bulldogs.
Leach was previously the head coach at Texas Tech University from 2000 to 2009, where he became the winningest coach in school history, and at Washington State University from 2012 to 2019, where he recorded the third-most wins of any coach in school history.
