ITV drama series, Vera, was filmed in several locations. Following Vera’s footsteps across the North East, some parts of the film were shot on the Northumberland coast, in areas including Craster, Seahouses, and Rumbling Kern.

Was Vera filmed on Holy Island?

The pandemic created a lot of changes on the set of Vera. Not only did it affect crew members and their composition, but it also affected location sets. During the detective’s home scene, the team made very good use of a property located on Holy Island, while the house’s interior scenes are shot on a studio set in North Tyneside.

The exterior of Vera’s home is on Holy Island, while the interior is a set at our Wallsend studio base,” lead character, Brenda Blethyn revealed.

Where is Vera’s cottage on Holy Island?

Vera’s cottage is on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a tidal isle off the Northumberland coast that you can drive to at low tide.
