Gerard Butler is a Scottish actor who has appeared in a wide range of films throughout his career.

Gerard Butler was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, the youngest of three children to bookmaker Margaret Butler and her husband, Edward Butler.
He comes from an Irish Catholic family. When he was six months old, his family relocated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
When his parents’ marriage failed a year later, his mother left Quebec and returned to Scotland with Gerard, who was 18 months old at the time.

Gerard Butler has starred in the romantic comedy “The Ugly Truth” (2009) and the action-thriller “Geostorm” (2017). Butler has also lent his voice to animated films such as “How to Train Your Dragon” (2010) and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” (2019).
In addition to his film work, Butler has also appeared on stage and television. He has received critical acclaim for his performances in productions of “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Coriolanus”. He has also starred in the TV series “Angeline” and “The Insider”.
