Hansbrough is An American professional basketball player for Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional.

Born in Columbia, Missouri, he attended Poplar Bluff High School where he led the Mules to back-to-back state championships and scored more than 2,500 career points.

After high school, Hansbrough committed to playing college basketball in North Carolina.

As a freshman at North Carolina in 2005–06, he became the only player in ACC history to earn First Team All-America honors as a freshman.

He was honored by The Sporting News and Rupp and was named third-team All-America by the Associated Press, NABC, and Basketball Times.
