He has won awards and championships across a variety of sports, most notably the Russian Judo Federation National Championship (Bronze medal 1998, 1999), the MMA Pride Fighting Championships (heavyweight champion 2002–2007), and the FIAS World Combat Sambo Championship (heavyweight champion 2002–2005, and 2007).
