William Marshall Thomson, professionally known as Billy Thompson was a Scottish goalkeeper, who played was born on 10 February 1958 and suddenly passed away on 6 February 2023.

In addition to Partick Thistle and St. Mirren, Thomson also played for Dundee United, Clydebank, Motherwell, Rangers, and Dundee.
In two Scottish Cup finals and the 1987 UEFA Cup Final, he represented Dundee United.
