Francis Kaminsky, an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association’s Houston Rockets, was born on April 4, 1993.

He represented the Wisconsin Badgers in collegiate basketball. In his time playing college basketball, Kaminsky set a Wisconsin single-game point record (43). He received all the votes for the 2015 men’s National College Player of the Year award. The Charlotte Hornets selected Kaminsky with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He spent four seasons with Charlotte before signing a free agent contract with the Phoenix Suns in July 2019. He made the NBA Finals in 2021 while playing with the Suns. As a freshman, Kaminsky participated in 35 of the 36 games. A season-high nine points were scored by him against UMKC on November 22, 2011.
