Tiki Barber, a retired professional football player from the United States, was a running back for the New York Giants for 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL).

He was born on April 7, 1975. For Virginia University, he participated in college football. In the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft, Barber was selected by the Giants, who he would play for the rest of his professional career. Barber was the Giants’ all-time leading rusher and receiver when he left the NFL at the conclusion of the 2006 NFL postseason. 2011 saw Barber’s admission into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

Barber entered the national media after his playing career, most notably as a correspondent for Sunday Night Football and Football Night in America on NBC’s The Today Show in 2007.

Barber majored in commerce while attending the University of Virginia on a scholarship. In addition to excelling as a student-athlete, Barber also broke the University of Virginia’s long jump record on his first attempt and helped the school’s football program regain its prominence.

He represented the University of Virginia in collegiate football. Barber spent his entire professional career with the Giants after being selected by them in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft.
