Mohamed Karlakwan Damala Bamba is an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). He was a Texas Longhorns basketball player in college. Bamba was born on May 12, 1998 in Harlem, New York to Ivory Coast immigrants Lancine Bamba and Aminata Johnson. Bamba’s grandparents were both born and raised in Mali.

Bamba made his official college debut against Northwestern State on November 10, 2017, recording 15 points and eight rebounds in a rout. Eight days later, he had 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks in a rout of Lipscomb. In a loss to Kansas on December 30, Bamba had a season-high 22 points, 15 rebounds, and eight blocks. On New Year’s Day 2018, Bamba had a season-high 16 rebounds and 10 points in a 74-70 overtime victory over Iowa State.
