Who Was Lee Whitlock? Grange Hill and Sweeney Todd star dead aged 54

Lee Whitlock was a British film and television actor. Whitlock made his television debut in 1980, at the age of 12, in the British series The Gentle Touch. In 1982, Whitlock played Stanley Moon, Harvey Moon’s son, in the television series Shine on Harvey Moon, and as Falstaff’s page Robin in The Merry Wives of Windsor. He appeared in the drama series Dramarama in 1983.

In 1987, Whitlock made a brief appearance in David Leland’s British film Wish You Were Here, and he rose to prominence in the television drama Two of Us, which depicted a gay relationship between two schoolboys. The following year, Whitlock co-starred in Central Television’s Starting with Coronation Street’s Chris Gascoyne.

Whitlock’s most notable role was that of Sydney Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin’s elder half-brother, in Bazz Taylor’s 1989 television film Young Charlie Chaplin. Split Ends, EastEnders, Harry Enfield’s Television Programme, Lovejoy, Soldier Soldier, Boon, Grange Hill, A Touch of Frost, The Detectives, Silent Witness, McCallum, Casualty, London’s Burning, and The Bill were other well-known series in which he appeared.
