Lanto entered the professional ranks after earning his degree and persevered through a few years on mini-tours, the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica, and the Korn Ferry (Web.com) Tour. Lanto struggled mightily during this period, accruing a significant debt and even contemplating abandoning the sport.

Will Wilcox: Who did Lanto Griffin caddie for?

When Will Wilcox, a close buddy from the mini-tours, requested Lanto to caddy for him at The Greenbrier in 2014, his financial fortune changed. He earned a respectable profit thanks to Will’s fourth-place finish and rediscovered his professional golfing self-confidence.

His good fortune returned in 2017, when he tied the course record and won the Nashville Golf Open Benefitting the Snedeker Foundation. Lanto finished 22nd on the Regular Season money list at the completion of the 2017 season, earning a PGA TOUR card for the 2017–18 campaign. He earned PGA Tour eligibility for the 2019–20 season after another season on the Korn Ferry Tour.
