Regina Spektor Children: Does Regina Spektor Have Kids?

Regina Spektor, a musician, singer, and composer of Russian descent, later acquired American citizenship. She gained notoriety in the New York City music industry, particularly in the East Village’s anti-folk scene, before signing with Sire Records in 2004.

Her most recent two albums, Far and What We Seen from the Cheap Seats, both debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. Begin to Hope, her fourth album was certified Gold. Her album Remember Us to Life peaked at number 23 on the same chart in 2016.

In Moscow, USSR, Regina Spektor was born in 1980 into a musical family. Bella Spektor, her mother, first worked as a teacher at a public elementary school before becoming a music professor at a Soviet college of music.

Ilya Spektor, her father, was a musician and amateur photographer. Regina makes reference to her brother Boruch, also known by the moniker of Boruch, in one of the songs from her 2004 album Soviet Kitsch.

She started taking piano lessons when she was seven years old, practicing on a Petrof upright piano that her grandfather had given to her mother.

Through recordings bought in Eastern Europe and cassette sharing with acquaintances in the Soviet Union, her father introduced her to rock and roll acts like the Beatles, Queen, and the Moody Blues.

She was raised on classical music, the poetry of Russian poets like Bulat Okudzhava and Vladimir Vysotsky, and rock and roll acts like the Queen, the Beatles, and the Moody Blues.
