He defeated Santiago Terbalca in the Featherweight division to win his first MMA match. In his second match, he won by knocking out Enrique Chimeyo to maintain his perfect record. Cannetti fought Cristiano Marcello at the Bitetti Conflict 8 event in Brazil in his subsequent match after moving up to the Lightweight division. He was submitted in the opening round and dropped the match. After losing his previous match, Cannetti defeated Benjamn Arroyo to start a four-fight winning streak. In an MMA match that was scheduled to take place in Argentina, he was supposed to compete against David “Escorpión” Ibérico.
