Gregor Townsend parents: Who are Gregor Townsend’s parents?

Gregor Peter John Townsend, MBE is a Scottish rugby union coach and former player.

He was born on April 26, 1973 in Galashiels, United Kingdom.

Upon graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a History and Politics degree, Townsend commenced his professional rugby career with Northampton Saints (1995–1998).

After three seasons with the Saints, he went on to have a stint with Brive (1998–2000), Castres (2000–2002), Border Reivers (2002–2004), Montpellier (2004–2005), and Border Reivers (2005–2007).

Internationally, Townsend won 82 caps for Scotland and two for the British and Irish Lions.

Gregor Townsend is currently the head coach of the Scotland national team having previously been an assistant coach from 2009 to 2012.

He also coached Glasgow Warriors from 2012 to 2017 and was a player-coach for Border Reivers between 2005–2007.

Townsend was awarded an MBE in 1999 for services to rugby.

Gregor Townsend’s father is Peter Townsend but his mother’s name is unknown.

Gregor’s father Peter Townsend played for Gala Rugby Football Club based in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.

He was the top scorer in the 1966/67 season of 28 games with 94 points.

Apart from Gregor, Peter Townsend is also a father to Craig Townsend who was also a rugby player.
