Michael Forshaw, a retired professional rugby player from England who was born on January 5th, 1970, played both rugby union and rugby league. He is now the Wales national rugby union team’s defensive coach.

Playing career
Forshaw started his professional playing career in 1987 with Wigan before moving on to play for Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Bulls, and Warrington Wolves. During his playing career, he was regarded as the “ultimate professional,” and he even represented Great Britain.

In addition to his rugby career, Forshaw also briefly played rugby union for Saracens F.C. and served as the Rugby Football League’s Player Performance Lifestyle Advisor.

Forshaw participated for Wigan in their 1991 Rugby Football League season triumph over Penrith Panthers in the World Club Challenge.
Forshaw was a member of the 1997 Super League Dream Team and represented Great Britain in two games of the Super League Test series against Australia. Throughout his playing career, he received caps for both England and Great Britain.
Forshaw participated in the Bradford Bulls’ victories in the Super League Grand Finals in 1999 and 2001. Also, he participated in the Bradford Bulls’ victory over the Newcastle Knights in the 2002 World Club Challenge.
In both the 2003 Super League Grand Final, in which they defeated the Wigan Warriors in, and the 2002 Super League Grand Final, in which they lost to St. Helens, Forshaw participated. Forshaw, who has had an excellent career in both rugby union and rugby league, is recognized as one of the greatest players of all time.
