Gordon Earle Moore was an American businessman, engineer, and Intel Corporation co-founder and emeritus chairman.

In July 1968, Moore and his long-time colleague Robert Noyce founded Intel. Intel invented the microprocessors that would pave the way for the personal computer revolution under his and Noyce’s leadership.
It is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer in terms of revenue, and one of the creators of the x86 series of instruction sets found in the majority of personal computers (PCs).

Intel, based in Delaware, was ranked No. 45 on the 2020 Fortune 500 list of the largest US corporations by total revenue for nearly a decade, from 2007 to 2016.
Microprocessors are supplied by Intel to computer system manufacturers such as Acer, Lenovo, HP, and Dell. Intel also produces motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips, embedded processors, and other communications and computing-related devices.
