Paul O’Grady ex-wife: Meet Teresa Fernandes

Paul spent 28 years with woman, but it was more of convenience marriage. 
In 1976, two years after the birth of his daughter Sharon, he worked at homosexual bar called Showplace where he encountered Portuguese model by the name of Teresa Fernandes.

He ran across Teresa, a gay man who was about to be deported, in the club. Paul O’Grady decided to get married to Teresa in May 1977 as a “marriage of convenience” to prevent her from being deported.

Later, the comedian admitted that although they were married for over three decades and lost touch, they never had a romantic relationship. However, in 2005, the couple split up after Paul’s manager informed him that she would inherit his assets in the event of his passing.

Teresa Fernandes’s ex-husband, Paul O’Grady is a British comedian, television presenter, and actor. He was born on June 14, 1955, in Birkenhead, England. O’Grady began his career as a drag queen performer in the London club scene in the 1980s under the name “Lily Savage.”

He gained widespread fame as a comedian and television presenter in the UK during the 1990s and 2000s, hosting a number of successful shows such as “The Paul O’Grady Show” and “Paul O’Grady Live.”

He has also acted in a variety of television dramas and films, including “Holby City” and “Doctor Who.” O’Grady is known for his quick wit and irreverent sense of humour. He has won several awards for his work in television, including a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance in 2005.
