Andre Portasio Biography
Andre Portasio is a ballet dancer and former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet. He is best known as the husband of British comedian and television presenter, Paul O’Grady.

Portasio was born in Brazil in 1967 and began his ballet training at the age of 11. He moved to London in 1988 to join the Royal Ballet, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become a principal dancer.
During his career, he performed in a wide range of ballets, including “Swan Lake,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “The Nutcracker.”

Portasio retired from the Royal Ballet in 2005 and has since worked as a ballet teacher and choreographer. He has also appeared as a judge on the BBC’s “Strictly Dance Fever” and has worked on several West End productions.
