Sadao Iizuka Wife: Was Sadao Iizuka Married?

Sadao Iizuka, who was born on December 26th, 1934, started working for Toho Studios in 1954, during the making of the first Godzilla, as an assistant in the tokusatsu art division.

After that, Mr. Iizuka continued at Toho for a long time, eventually developing the company’s recognizable optical effects that would become popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Among many of the studio’s other optical effects, Mr. Iizuka would go on to create Godzilla’s atomic ray and King Ghidorah’s gravity beams.

In his second interview with Brett Homenick in January 2021, Mr. Iizuka talked about his work with optical effects at Toho and beyond. Maho Harada translated the conversation.

It was Old Tsuburaya at Toho who invented this area of the motion picture business. I was a member of the staff at the time, and none of us knew how to perform any of this. We lacked any technique or expertise, he said.
