Cole Pensick, a former Husker Football player, died in a single-vehicle crash in rural Polk County. The incident occurred around 6:42 a.m. on Saturday. Pensick was driving a 2022 Chevy Silverado westbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

As a result, the vehicle off the road and slammed into trees near 141st and Q Road in Columbus, Ohio. Pensick was pronounced dead on the spot because he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident is still being investigated, and police have not disclosed any other details. The sudden passing of Pensick has shocked and devastated the Nebraska football community. Pensick’s family, friends, and teammates received condolences from the Nebraska Football Program.
