Popular actor, Jake Wood of EastEnders fame, has announced that he has health issues relating to a bad chest infection, therefore, he will not be able to take part in the 2023 London Marathon.

The competition which is set to happen today, (April 23, 2023) will not see Wood as one of its celebrity competitors.
“Unfortunately, I’ll be unable to run the London Marathon on Sunday (April 23, 2023) due to medical advice. I’ve got a very bad chest infection, I’ve had it for the last couple of weeks. I’ve been told in no uncertain terms to not run. “I’m gutted to not be running it with all my friends Babs’ Army, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. I’ll be really sad to not be with them on the day,” he said.

The purpose of the competition is to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Wood had been training for quite a long time to partake in this competition.
Other celebrities involved in the competition have expressed concerns regarding his health.
“Gutted for you Bud. Tough decision but the right one,” actor Adam Woodyatt.
“Jake you have been a warrior all through training! We are so sorry to lose you from the team!! Your health comes first but just gutted for you! Thanks for all you have done this far! Love you mate!,” Barbara’s widow Scott Mitchell wrote.
