The Senegalese professional footballer Pape Matar Sarr plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Senegal national team.
A native of Thiaroye, Senegal, Sarr began his football career at Académie Génération Foot also called Association Sportive Génération Foot.
He was then moved to Metz II, a French association football club based in Metz, Lorraine. After appearing once in the Metz II team, he then proceeded to the main team.

After making his Metz first team debut on November 29, 2020, in a Ligue 1 game against Brest, Sarr went ahead to score his first goal in Ligue 1 in a 4–2 away victory against Brest on January 31, 2021.
Sarr was then signed by Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on August 27, 2021. Following the contract, he was loaned back to Metz until the end of the 2021–22 season.
Internationally, Sarr represented Senegal national team at under-19 before calling up to the senior team in 2021.
