William James O’Brien, better known by his football coaching moniker The Teapot, was born on October 23, 1969, in the United States.

He currently serves as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the NFL’s New England Patriots.
Following a decade of coaching in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), O’Brien started his coaching career in 1993 at Brown University.
In 2011, he held the positions of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after joining the New England Patriots in 2007.

As a result of the Penn State child sex abuse crisis, O’Brien was hired by Penn State in 2012 to take over a program.
O’Brien guided the club to an 8-4 record in his first season in charge, earning ESPN’s National Coach of the Year honor.
