Deion Patterson, a man suspected of killing one person and injuring four others in a mass shooting at an Atlanta hospital on Wednesday May 3, was apprehended by police.

Though his parents are not known, Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said that Patterson’s family has been cooperating with authorities.
On Wednesday afternoon, a man matching his description was seen being arrested at a Cobb County condo complex.
According to CNN, Patterson, who was recently discharged from the Coast Guard, had originally attended a medical appointment at the building on Wednesday at which he was accompanied by his mother.

According to police, Deion Patterson, 24, opened fire in a waiting room at Northside Hospital Medical Midtown at 12:08 p.m., killing a 39-year-old woman.
Patterson is believed to have fled the hospital’s 11th floor in the thriving Midtown commercial and residential district and carjacked a vehicle, which was later recovered in suburban Cobb County, north of the city.
Patterson was apprehended “without incident” shortly before 8 p.m. at a condominium complex in suburban Cobb County outside of Atlanta, capping off a chaotic, multi-agency search, according to Cobb County Police Chief Stuart VanHooze at a press conference.
