She gave birth to son Cornelis Levi, the couple’s first child, on December 14th, 2006. After giving birth to her baby, Pittman underwent breast implant surgery, which was disclosed in May 2009. The implants were removed the next year, she said, since they had “affected her running,” but she would think about getting breast augmentation again when her athletic career was finished.

She is a two-time world champion in the 400 m hurdles, from 2003 and 2007. She also won the gold medal in this event at the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games and was part of Australia’s winning 4 × 400 meters relay teams at both events.
