DJ Pete Tong is not deaf in real life. Tong only made a cameo in the mockumentary film “It’s All Gone Pete Tong”, which tells the story of a DJ (Paul Kaye) who goes completely deaf.

Who Is Pete Tong?

Peter Tong is a professional Disc Jockey known for hosting programmes such as Essential Mix and Essential Selection on BBC Radio.

Born on July 30, 1960, in Dartford, England, Tong performs under his record label FFRR Records at nightclubs and music festivals.

Having been a former record producer, Tong is now regarded as a “global ambassador for electronic music.”

Tong also runs a nightly radio programme “in the United States on iHeartRadio’s “Evolution” EDM format platform.”

He was part of the organizers of the International Music Summit in Ibiza, in 2008, and is now Britain’s most recognised DJ.

His annual pool party held during Miami Music Week on South Beach, has hosted the likes of Idris Elba, The Black Madonna, Black Coffee and The Martinez Brothers, and many others.

Tong has won many awards including the Radio Show of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards, and in 2014, he was “appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.”
