Mary Clare, Winwood’s eldest daughter, married businessman Ben Elliot in 2011, who later became the Conservative Party’s Co-Chairman. The couple is the parents of two sons.

Winwood’s daughter Lilly Winwood is a singer who appeared in a Hershey commercial performing a duet of his song “Higher Love” with him.

She opened for her father’s 2018 Greatest Hits Live tour and sang backup on several songs.

As a member of Traffic, Winwood was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. At the annual BMI London Awards in 2005, Winwood was named a BMI Icon for his “enduring influence on generations of music makers.”

Rolling Stone ranked Winwood No. 33 on its list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time in 2008. Winwood has received two Grammy Awards.

In 2011, he received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors.
