Actress and singer Alexa Vega was born in the United States on August 27, 1988. She is well-known for playing Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids movie series and Julie Corky in the 2004 movie Sleepover. In the 2009 television series Ruby & the Rockits on ABC Family, she played the titular role of Ruby Gallagher.

Beginning in 2016, she began playing the lead in a number of Hallmark movies created just for television, including Ms. Matched, Destination Wedding, and Christmas Made to Order.

Picture Perfect Mysteries: Newlywed and Dead and its sequel, Picture Perfect Mysteries: Dead over Diamonds, were both produced by Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and starred Vega and her husband Carlos PenaVega. Her Pure Flix original series, The Power Couple, also starred her.

After meeting him at a Bible study in late 2012, Vega began dating American actor and singer Carlos Pena Jr., star of the Nickelodeon sitcom Big Time Rush and a member of the boy band of the same name.
She made a cameo appearance in the Big Time Rush series finale episode, which aired in July 2013, and she portrayed Carlos Garcia’s new girlfriend there. August 2013 saw the couple’s engagement, and on January 4, 2014, they wed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, adopting the last name PenaVega for both of them.
