Jalen Slawson, an American who plays college basketball for the Furman Paladins of the Southern Conference, was born on October 22, 1999.

Slawson started as a starter in his second year at Furman after serving as an important reserve during his freshman year. As a junior, he scored 8.7 points per game.
During his senior year, Slawson averaged 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. He was also selected as the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-SoCon.

Slawson decided to spend a fifth season at Furman by taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility given to collegiate athletes who competed in the 2020 season due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As a result of his role in the Paladins’ first NCAA tournament berth in 43 years, he was awarded the SoCon Player of the Year.
