An American professional baseball outfielder with the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB), James Matthew Outman was born on May 14, 1997. In 2022, he debuted for the MLB.

Outman was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB Draft. In 2018 he was a member of the Ogden Raptors, and in 2019 he was a member of the Great Lakes Loons.
Outman started 2021 with the Loons, where he hit.250 with nine home runs and 30 RBI after missing the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When he got seven extra base hits, including three home runs, in six games against the Springfield Cardinals, he was voted the Double-A Central hitter of the week two weeks after being promoted to the Double-A Tulsa Drillers in July.
