Kendric Davis attended Sam Houston Math, Science, and Technology Center in Houston, Texas. He joined the varsity basketball team in his freshman season.
As a senior, Kendric Davis averaged 22.6 points and 6.6 assists per game. He graduated as a two-time Class 6A All-State selection and a three-time 20-6A District MVP.

As a freshman, he averaged 6.3 points, two assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game in a reserve role. In his junior season debut on November 25, 2020, Kendric Davis scored a career-high 33 points in a 97–67 win against Sam Houston State.
Following the season, Kendric Davis transferred to the University of Memphis for his final season of eligibility. On January 23, 2023, he scored 26 points in an 80–68 win against Tulsa and surpassed the 2,000-point threshold.
