Zac Gallen is a professional baseball player who currently plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). He is the son of Jim and Stacy Galle. Both his parents played some kind of sport.

At the age of five, Zac Gallen refused to play tee-ball with his peers, instead demanding to play Little League Baseball with the Somerdale team. He was selected in the third round of the Little League draft by his father’s team and would play with children aged seven to nine.
Gallen joined the Tri-state Arsenal Baseball Academy in New Jersey at the age of 11, where he played pitcher and second base. Gallen attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played college baseball for the Tar Heels.

He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 2016 MLB draft. Gallen was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31, 2019, for shortstop Jazz Chisholm Jr.
He was named National League Player of the Week for the week of August 29 – September 4 2022, as well as National League Pitcher of the Month for August. He is ranked fifth in the country. Voting for Cy Young
