Annika Sörenstam is a Swedish former professional golfer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest female golfers of all time.

During her 15 year, Hall-of-Fame career, she rewrote the LPGA and Ladies European Tour record books, won countless awards, and changed the way women’s golf was played, viewed and covered.
Before retiring from competitive golf at the end of the 2008 season, she had won 90 international tournaments as a professional, making her the female golfer with the most wins.
She has won 72 official LPGA tournaments, including ten majors, and 24 other foreign tournaments. She returned from retirement after reaching 50, winning the 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Open.

Annika Sörenstam is the only female golfer to shoot a 59 in competition and has won a record eight Player of the Year accolades and six Vare Trophies presented to the LPGA player with the lowest seasonal scoring average.
She owns several all-time scoring records, including the lowest season scoring average in 2004 (68.6969). President Donald Trump awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom on January 7, 2021.
