Gabriel was born on December 21, 2004, in Brasilia, Brazil, and began his football career at an early age with Santos FC youth academy.

He joined the Sanfos FC squad of the under-20s in 2020, making his professional debut in a match against Fluminense during the Série A championship. He is still the second-youngest ever player to debut for the club.
Gabriel also made his Copa Libertadores debut in 2021, and became the youngest player in the club to appear in the competition. Gabriel is also the youngest player ever to score in a Libertadores match.
On the international stage, Gabriel has represented Brazil under-15s, under-16s, and under-17s teams. He has appeared in various international matches including the South American Championship, and the Montaigu Tournament.
