She attended the University of the West of Scotland while also graduating from the Open University and playing professional football.

Cuthbert made her senior debut on 7 June 2016, coming on as a second-half substitute for Rachel Corsie in a 1-0 qualifying win over Belarus.

Cuthbert appeared in seven games and scored three goals in the ensuing unsuccessful qualification for Euro 2022. She played in all five games of the 2023 World Cup qualification and scored two goals.

Cuthbert played for five years at Rangers, making her Scottish Women’s Premier League debut in September 2013 and being named the league’s Young Player of the Year for the 2014 season.

On 8 December 2016, Cuthbert left Glasgow City to join FA WSL club Chelsea. Cuthbert signed a new contract with Chelsea in November 2022, which is due to run until the end of the 2024–25 season.
