His parents separated in 1981 when Lucas was two and divorced the following year. His father Ron Musselman is a former Major League Baseball pitcher
Ron Musselman played in the major leagues from 1982 to 1985, but once his career ended, he fell behind on child support payments and went more than six months without seeing his kid.
After the case went to court in 1992, Musselman lost parental rights; he was also forbidden from contacting Lucas then 13 until he turned 18. Meanwhile, his mother Hershey Hendley remarried to Jim Glover, and Lucas Glover now only considers Jim Glover to be his father.

Lucas Glover was introduced to golf by his grandfather, Dick Hendley, when he was three years old and by the time he was a teenager, he was a three-time High School All-American at Wade Hampton High School.
As a freshman and sophomore, he won the South Carolina State High School championship, and as a junior and senior, he finished second. Glover was All-State his whole high school career.
He gained his first PGA Tour victory in 2005 at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort. However, it was in 2009 that he achieved his most significant triumph by winning the U.S. Open Championship.
