Aron John Baynes has had a successful basketball career in the National Basketball League (NBL), playing as a centre.
He began his professional journey in the league when he signed with the San Antonio Spurs in 2013.

Over the years, he has played for various teams, including Oldenburg, Ikaros, Olimpija, San Antonio Spurs, Austin Toros, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and the Toronto Raptors.
Baynes was a part of the San Antonio Spurs’ 2014 NBA Championship-winning team.
He is known to possess strong defensive skills and rebounding ability.
In 2022, Baynes joined the Brisbane Bullets on a two-year contract, after recovering from a spinal cord injury during the Tokyo Olympics.
On the international front, Baynes has represented the Australian national team, the Boomers, at different tournaments including the FIBA World Championship, and the Summer Olympics.
