In a recent interview, Gomez candidly discussed the lyrics of her song, which include the line, “a little bit high maintenance, but I’m worth a try.” She acknowledged that this description could apply to her but clarified that having standards is not the same as being high maintenance.

“I think I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance,” Gomez shared, shedding light on the misconceptions that often surround women’s expectations in relationships.

The 31-year-old artist emphasized that there’s nothing wrong with knowing what one wants in a partner. “I’m not ashamed to say, ‘I actually require X, Y, and Z for you to be with me,’” she stated.
