He is most known for writing episodes for four of Time magazine’s all-time top 100 television shows: “The Simpsons,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Office,” and “King of the Hill.”
As a Harvard student, he co-wrote for the Harvard Lampoon with Conan O’Brien. He graduated in 1984.
Daniels joined the Simpsons writing staff in 1993, where he worked from the fifth to the seventh season of the programme.
He even won a Primetime Emmy for the Simpsons’ episode “Treehouse of Horror V” from the seventh season. Daniels departed the Simpsons to work with Mike Judge on King of the Hill.

At the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, he received an award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Following the popularity of “The Office,” Daniels moved on to writing for “Parks and Recreation” before returning to “The Office” full-time for the final two seasons.
