Satou Sabally Parents: Meet Jerrah Sabally & Heike Krone.

Satou Sabally is a German-American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

She is the daughter of Jerrah Sabally and Heike Krone. Her mother is German and her father is Gambian.

Although she was born in New York City, her family relocated to the Gambia when she was just two years old.

When she was seven years old, her family relocated to Berlin, Germany, where she finished high school.

In a conversation with Anadolu Agency, Sabally revealed that the origin of her first name, Isatou is derived from the Muslim name Aisha, which carries special religious connotations.

Satou Sabally was not the oldest daughter, as is customary in Gambian culture for the oldest daughter to inherit an aunt’s name, but she was given that name nonetheless.

She owes her upbringing as a Muslim to her father.  Her mother appears in several of her games as well as the win celebration. Every life moment serves to bind the family together.
