A Non-Political, Clear-Cut Approach Needed to Address SSNIT Issues, Says Austin Gamey

Labour expert Austin Gamey emphasized that the matters concerning the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) should not be politicized.

To him, SSNIT is not a political institution that politicians will manipulate.

Mr. Gamey remarked on the ‘Hands off Our Hotels’ demonstration organized by North Tongu lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa against the proposed sale of hotels owned by SSNIT, during an appearance on the Ghana Tonight Show on TV3 Tuesday, June 18th.

“There should be a clear-cut approach to resolving this SSNIT matter without political considerations so those who are in the habit of partisan or parochial when it comes to things of this nature, SSNIT is not one of the political things we should play with or toyed with under any circumstance should not be toyed with.

“The competence, structure, and character of SSNIT will have to go through a complete overhaul.”
