Adnan Syed Siblings: Meet Yusuf Syed And Tanveer Syed

Adnan Syed has two siblings. They are Yusuf Syed and Tanveer Syed.

Adnan’s arrest had a major effect on his siblings. His brother Yusef told The Guardian in an interview that Adnan’s wrongful conviction made him frustrated and furious that there was so little evidence to prove his brother’s innocence.

Adnan’s elder brother, Tanveer on the other hand left his family behind after Adnan’s arrest. He moved away to Philadelphia and was estranged from the rest of his family. However, after the podcast, the family has since reunited.

Adnan has been cleared of charges in the 1999 murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee after DNA evidence emerged in the case.

The Baltimore state’s attorney’s office said a yearlong investigation revealed Syed had been wrongfully convicted of strangling and killing Lee.
