Alex “Goldfingers” Shakoane, a prominent Mamelodi Sundowns official, has passed away.

Sundowns on Sunday provided confirmation of Shakoane’s passing.
The club expressed its great sorrow over the tragic death of its devoted supporter and longtime communications manager.
Mamelodi Sundowns released a statement saying, “Alex Shakoane loved Mamelodi Sundowns immensely and was a loyal servant of football in Mamelodi, Tshwane, and entire South Africa.”

He participated in Sundowns from the band’s early 1970s days. The board, the fans, and every member of the Mamelodi Sundowns family mourn the loss of Shakoane, who they all cherished, according to Sundowns chairman Tlhopie Motsepe.

He had no wife at the time of his passing. However, he was married to his Paulina Shakoane in 1975 before they break up. It is not known whether he had any kids with Paulina his ex wife.
