Patsy Smith and John Smith are the parents of English actress, Amanda Abbington.

Born Amanda Jane Smith on February 28, 1974, she started her career in 2000, however, she appeared in the TV series The Bill until 2007, playing numerous characters.

During that time, she went on to appear in several TV series. Some of them include Wycliffe, Casualty, Dream Team, The Sins, Doc Martin, Coupling, Teachers, and more.

Before that, she also appeared in the 2005 comedy sketch Man Stroke Woman. She began appearing on the television series Mr. Selfridge as Miss Mardle alongside Jeremy Piven and Frances O’Connor.
