Amy, who deployed in Afghanistan, met Mr Papworth in October 2019 and got engaged two months later on New Year’s Eve, according to the court.
Ms Stringfellow’s mother, Jacqueline Fareham, claimed in a statement that Mr Papworth “at first appeared to be wonderful” and that she treated him “as one of the family.”
In November 2020, Mr Papworth died in Leeds Prison. The Prison Service did not reveal how he died.
