Unfortunately, Toles’ MLB career was relatively short-lived due to personal and mental health challenges. He battled anxiety and other issues that affected his ability to consistently play at the major league level. He played his last MLB game in 2018.
Andrew Toles wandered between hospitals and homeless shelters until his father was granted guardianship of him in 2020. His father now lives just 50 yards away from Andrew, trying to keep him healthy as he works through his mental illness, USA Today reported.
