Born on November 7, 1930, Barry Newman got his first acting job in Herman Wouk’s first comedy Nature’s Way, in which he played as a jazz musician. He went on to star in the New York production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. 

He also starred in several Broadway productions including What Makes Sammy Run, Night Live, America Hurrah, and more. He also starred in the daytime drama as attorney John Barnes in The Edge of Night. 

Newman appeared in 1960s Pretty Boy Floyd and made his debut breakthrough role in The Lawyer (1970). In 1974, he appeared in the TV series Petrocelli. 

After that, he appeared in several movies and tv shows. Some of them include Vanishing Point, City on Fire, King Crab, Second Sight: A Love Story, My Two Loves, The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, Daylight, Bowfinger, Fugitive Mind, and more.

Newman made his last appearance when he reunited with popular writer-director, Furie to star in the independent film Finding Hannah in 2022.
