Annette Joanne Funicello was born on October 22, 1942, in Utica, New York, United States. Her parents are Virginia Jeanne Albano and Joseph Edward Funicello. They are also Italian Americans.
Annette Funicello relocated to Southern California when she was four years old. She started her professional career as a child performer at the age of twelve and was one of the most popular Mouseketeers in the original Mickey Mouse Club.

Annette Funicello became a a singer as a teenager and had the pop singles “O Dio Mio”, “First Name Initial”, “Tall Paul” and “Pineapple Princess” to her name. She published her autobiography, A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes My Story in 1994.

Annette Funicello was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1992. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for motion pictures on September 14, 1993. She got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987.

Annette Funicello later died of complications from the multiple sclerosis disease on April 8, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Southwest – Bakersfield, in Bakersfield, California, United States. She was buried at Forest Lawn, Los Angeles, California, United States.
